July 17 Update:
Asheville Music School is continuing to closely follow updates from state officials on school reopening. The majority of our lessons are still online only, with a few in-person lessons happening throughout the week. We are adhering to Phase 2 regulations, where no more than 10 people are using our facility at the same time. Masks are required to enter the building, social distancing is required, and hand-sanitizing stations are available.

Asheville Music School stands in unconditional solidarity with Black Lives Matter and the constitutional right to protest. We stand against racial discrimination and we condemn violence. We believe that the systemic racism and inequality in our society must be recognized, confronted, and brought to an end.
We commit to educating our board and staff through programs such as the Racial Equity Institute, and to listen to and seek guidance from local black leaders on steps that we can take as an organization. We humbly acknowledge that we have a lot to learn and a long way to go.
We endeavor to contribute positively to and lift up our black community, and to strengthen our communities through music.

Here comes… our video! We needed to find a way to reconnect, create, and make music together again. So, we got 40 of our music teachers and students to submit videos, and this is what we made. We think it turned out amazing!
This month we are celebrating our graduating seniors. Here’s our Q&A with Will Turner, who studied trumpet and guitar at AMS, played in our Sound Education outreach bands, and has been working on connecting music and neuroscience.
