Why Music Outreach?
At Asheville Music School we believe in the inherent power of music to transform lives. Connecting people through the universal language of music heals, builds, and strengthens individuals, relationships, and community. In this spirit, AMS has developed a roster of rotating student ensembles, soloists, and faculty that perform for free at community sites, and for underserved members of our community.
By engaging in music study and activities, youth reap all the personal development and social benefits inherent in such an undertaking. Students can experience the pride and satisfaction that comes with contributing to the greater community. While sharing their musical accomplishments with those in need, they bring joy to the suffering and comfort to the lonely. All this provides important life lessons to the students.
