We are thrilled to be part of the festivities at the Montford Garden Tour on Saturday June 5, 10am-5pm. It’s the community’s first garden tour in 17 years. Local musicians will be featured at 12 different gardens, including AMS teachers Kylie Irvin and Mar, as well as our Fiddle Squad, made up of string students led by Paul Stroebel and Holley Ross.
Spring Recitals 2021
AMS Student Recitals – Sunday, May 16
In compliance with Executive Order 204, we are staying as safe as possible and limited our capacity to 50% for recitals. We will only have a maximum of 10 students on each recital. As of now, we are planning on hosting our Spring Recitals in the Loft at Asheville Music School, but this could change to outdoors. We may announce a few virtual recitals if the need arises.
COVID Protocol Update: April 14, 2021
Asheville Music School is committed to keeping its students, teachers, and staff as safe as possible. We are remaining on the safe side of Executive Order 204 and only increasing to 50% capacity, and still requiring masks in public areas.
Italian Wine Tasting Fundraiser
“We’re still being separate and safe, but at least we can toast the same wine together,” says AMS director Ryan Reardon.
New AMS Teacher Jenny Bradley
Jenny’s life-long involvement in music ranges from gospel singing in church as a child to 15 years of classical piano study which led her to earning a degree in music education from Lander University with an emphasis in piano and choral music. At the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, she helped develop the group piano course for kids and created a successful method of teaching rhythm, ©Rhythm Shapes.
Seeking Piano Teacher
Asheville Music School is hiring a piano teacher, specifically one that has training and experience with early childhood education, and is willing to teach in-person lessons. Experience in ensemble leading, with knowledge of multiple instruments, a plus. Music degree required.

Top 5 Benefits – Learn w/ Your Child
As the saying goes, two heads are better than one. When we decide to take up a new hobby or commit to learning something new, it’s not only more helpful to have a teammate by our side – it makes the experience more fun! Learning an instrument together is one solid way to become teammates with your child. Not only will you be a great mentor while they learn an exciting new instrument, but you’ll be able to explore what music has to offer together. This will be one of the greatest decisions you make as a parent, for your child and for yourself.
