Asheville Music School’s mission is always to strengthen communities through music education and outreach. And in 2022, we’ll be expanding our offerings and ability to better serve the community as we move into a permanent home in West Asheville! We invite you to join us for dinner on October 20 to learn more about our exciting new developments…
Summer Camps are Back in Action
Summer is officially here, and that brings our summer music camps! Enrollment is still open for a few of our music camps, including Fiddle Camp (July 12-16) and Harry Potter-themed Suzuki Strings Camp (July 26-30), led by Paul Stroebel and Holley Ross.
Montford Garden Tour – June 5
We are thrilled to be part of the festivities at the Montford Garden Tour on Saturday June 5, 10am-5pm. It’s the community’s first garden tour in 17 years. Local musicians will be featured at 12 different gardens, including AMS teachers Kylie Irvin and Mar, as well as our Fiddle Squad, made up of string students led by Paul Stroebel and Holley Ross.
Italian Wine Tasting Fundraiser
“We’re still being separate and safe, but at least we can toast the same wine together,” says AMS director Ryan Reardon.

Virtual Benefit for Mountain Care – Oct. 15
Asheville Music School will be hosting a virtual benefit for the Henderson County MountainCare featuring our students and faculty on Thursday at 7pm. We have collaborated with MountainCare for many years providing musicians and entertainment for their clients and have seen firsthand how important and special this organization is for the community. Please tune in, donate, and share to support MountainCare in finding a new location during the pandemic.

Show Up For Sean
Asheville Music School, in partnership with local Asheville musicians, has started a new music scholarship fund in honor of the late Sean Mason. The Sean Mason Memorial Scholarship Fund will benefit students wishing to study percussion instruments of all kinds, as well as studies in jazz and composition. Sean was long-time Asheville drummer and percussionist who passed away late this past summer of 2020.
CANCELLED – Music at Creekside
Join us for a lovely evening of live music that we’ve planned on Oct. 3. We have the Brevard Philharmonic Woodwind Quintet and Bob Strain jazz trio performing at a private home in North Asheville. You can bring a picnic, bring some wine, bring the family (or, date night!). It’s a very safe space, with everyone social distancing. We’d love to see you!
AMS Outreach Continues
Asheville Music School will be hosting a virtual benefit for our partners at Mountain Care.
We are putting together a virtual performance livestreamed on our social media platforms to help raise money for a program that provides an essential service to the community.
