Congrats to AMS students Estella Wetzel and Ava Moser
Congrats to Estella Wetzel, who made first chair flute in the Buncombe County Middle School All County Band, as well as being accepted into the Asheville Youth Symphony. Congrats to Ava Moser, who has earned a seat in flute in the Buncombe County 9-10 All County Band. Both are students of Delia Lytle Bailey.

Alexander Technique Workshop at AMS (round 2!)
Feel more comfortable and supported while playing your instrument. Discover greater ease, fluidity and expressivity. Participants are encouraged but not required to bring their instruments. Adult Ukulele Class starts Oct. 6
In this ukulele workshop, participants will have the opportunity to practice strumming, finger picking, changing chords, and even singing while playing if you feel ready! We will focus on rhythm as well as melody. Students will have the opportunity to choose songs that we will play together as a group. You can expect to build your musical repertoire in this jam style class.
Revamped Minør performs live, Aug. 17
Our flagship rock band Minør (led by Alec Fehl) has their first performance after a big regrouping this summer, with over half of the band graduating high school. See them live on Thursday August 17, at the United For Youth Block Party at Pack Square Park, downtown Asheville. 4:30pm.
Fiddle Squad at Downtown Farm Burger Sun. Aug. 20
This Sunday, August 20 Farm Burger (downtown Asheville) is hosting a Give Back Night, featuring a performance by Asheville Music School’s Fiddle Squad (led by Paul Stroebel). Farm Burger is donating 10% of their sales this Sunday evening, starting at 4pm. Pop in to hear some Appalachian, Irish, Bluegrass, and Old Time played by AMS students.
Fiddle Squad performs at 6:00pm.
