The fourth annual Sound Effects concert to benefit Asheville Music School will be held on Thursday, April 21 from 6 – 9 PM at Isis Restaurant & Music Hall. The featured headliner will showcase AMS teachers and students covering The Beatles’ Abbey Road album in its entirety, with full instrumentation.
The event will also feature AMS Outreach ensembles, including the AMS Rock Band, and also the Woodsong Clarinet Choir, made up of teachers, professionals, and students of all ages. Another highlight will be the announcement of winners of the Practice-A-Thon, where AMS students gather sponsors who pledge donations based on the number of hours they practice their instrument during the month of March. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on a variety of silent auction and raffle items donated by area businesses, and may also donate to a fund to purchase musical instruments for the school’s instrument library.
