Music Theory

About Music Theory

Music theory is typically broken down into two categories- written and aural. Asheville Music School’s theory lessons focus on both. If you are studying a particular instrument, then music theory will be incorporated in the lessons. But, we do offer intensive lessons focused solely on music theory itself, without focusing on learning an instrument. These types of lessons are great for self-taught musicians, those looking to eventually compose their own music, singers who want to expand their theoretical knowledge, and anyone interested in the inner workings of the musical language.
