Students! We want to hear from YOU!
The study of music means different things to every student. For some people it is a creative outlet that they do for pure enjoyment. For others, it can be a life-changing experience. Whether you play for fun, or if music is a career you plan to pursue, or even if you aren’t sure where it will take you, we want to hear how music has changed and affected your life.
Eligibility
The essay contest is open to Asheville Music School students of all ages. Only 1 essay per student will be accepted. Word count: 500-1000 words.
Deadline & Submission
All essays are due by October 12, 2018. Hand essays in to your private teacher, to the AMS office, and/or email ryan@ashevillemusicschool.org
Judging
Essays will be judged on their ability to answer the topic question in an articulate, clear, and organized manner. The judges panel will be members of the AMS Board of Directors and AMS community partners.
$100 Grand Prize
Plus other prizes for runners up.
