Asheville Music School stands in unconditional solidarity with Black Lives Matter and the constitutional right to protest. We stand against racial discrimination and we condemn violence. We believe that the systemic racism and inequality in our society must be recognized, confronted, and brought to an end.
We commit to educating our board and staff through programs such as the Racial Equity Institute, and to listen to and seek guidance from local black leaders on steps that we can take as an organization. We humbly acknowledge that we have a lot to learn and a long way to go.
We endeavor to contribute positively to and lift up our black community, and to strengthen our communities through music.
