AFRICAN DRUMMING CLASS WITH ADAMA DEMBELE!!

January 30, 2013 by averyparker

Come learn djembe from a master!

Adama Dembele is a 33rd generation djembe player from Ivory Coast, West Africa. Djembe is his main instrument, but he also teaches doun doun, sangbang, and kinkine. If you have a drum, bring it with you, if not we can provide one for you (just let us know in advance- 252-6244).

Who:  All skill levels and ages 9 and up are welcome. With African drumming there are many layers of difficulty, so while one part may be simple and good for a beginner, a more complex part can be part of the same song.

When: Wednesday Nights, 7:00pm-8:00pm, starting February 6, 2013

Cost: $15 per class, or $55 per month. No enrollment necessary, just show up!

Where: Asheville Music School, 126 College St.
