Teachers at AMS set their own tuition rates and schedules. Lesson tuition is paid directly to your teacher. Teachers’ tuition rates are published on their bio pages and currently range from $30-$40 per 30-minute lesson, which typically equals $120 to $160 monthly tuition.
Tuition policies vary slightly by teacher but is normally paid in advance and due on the last week, or last lesson, of each month for the following month. Teachers usually collect your payment in advance to reserve your time slot and pay for their studio space in advance. Your instructor is not obligated to hold studio space for you if you have not paid in advance.
Teachers also set their own policies regarding 5-week months, vacations, and missed lessons and make-up lessons. Your teacher will explain his or her policies at the first lesson.
Scheduling Matters
Communications regarding scheduling, tuition payments or missed lessons should be done directly with your teacher. In the case of inclement weather, please check with your teacher! AMS does not follow the public school calendar regarding inclement weather closings.
AMS Membership
When you enroll at AMS, your family pays an AMS Membership fee directly to Asheville Music School. This is fee covers all students in your immediate family. You can pay monthly, annually, or seasonally here on our AMS Membership page. To update your billing details, please use our billing portal.
