Lessons with Nick

Lessons are fun, and music is a joy to play every day! I cater towards how the student wants to grow musically. I enjoy teaching with a variety of approaches based on what each student needs. So if playing by ear is desired with a goal of improvising, that’s where we will focus. And if training for an orchestral audition is the goal, we will create a regimented practice plan to achieve that. I love exploring which music inspires us, and letting that guide our musical aspirations. Whether you’ve never touched an instrument, or you’re picking it back up after 50 years, we’ll have a great time finding out more about music and ourselves in the process!

Testimonials

“Nick emphasizes great music making in a variety of genres and shares valuable information about the business of freelancing. What an engaging, inspiring, and practical class that is relevant to any music student! We look forward to having him back in the near future!”

— Brian O’Donnell, Instructor of Trombone and Euphonium, Point Loma Nazarene University
