Summer Music Camps

Music Camps for All Skill Levels, Ages 4-18

Summer music camps at Asheville Music School are a great way to begin your musical journey, enhance your skills, or even try a new instrument. We have camps for ages 4-18 – Rock and Pop Music Camps, Jazz Camp (new for 2025!), Ukulele Camp, Song Circle Voice Camp, Appalachian Music, and even a Harry Potter-themed Suzuki strings camp. Students will learn music in a fun, supportive, team-oriented environment in small or large groups. Cost: $205-$380. Email info@ashevillemusicschool.org for more info.

Summer 2025 Dates

June 16-20: Appalachian Music Camp, 9am-12pm, ages 8-15, for acoustic string instruments.
Led by Paul Stroebel and Jason McCoy

June 23-27: Ukulele Camp, 9am-12pm, ages 7-10, instrument required.
Led by Andy John & Melanie Ida Chopko

July 7-11: Pre-Teen Pop Rock Camp, 9am-4pm, ages 9-13, some experience helpful but not mandatory.
Led by Melanie Ida Chopko and Mary Steinbrecher, assisted by Alexander Rodriguez

July 14-18: Rock Camp, 9am-4pm, ages 10-18, some experience helpful.
Led by Andy John & Ryan Kijanka

July 14-18: Music Explorations, 2 sessions, 9am-12pm, 1pm-4pm, ages 4-7 – held at Trinity United Methodist Church in West Asheville.
Led by Melanie Ida Chopko and Sage Christie

July 21-25: Music Explorations, 9am-12pm, ages 4-6 – held at Trinity United Methodist Church in West Asheville.
Led by Melanie Ida Chopko and Emily Songster

July 21-25: Song Circle Voice Camp, 9am-12pm, ages 8-11.
Led by Rachel Hansbury

July 28-Aug 1: Jazz Camp, 9am-12pm, ages 13-18, instrument required. Held at Trinity United Methodist Church in West Asheville.
Led by Andy John & Ryan Kijanka

July 28-Aug 1: Harry Potter-themed Suzuki Strings Camp, 9am-4pm, ages 5-12, instrument required.
Led by Paul Stroebel & Holley Ross

Aug 4-8: Beginner Harry Potter-themed Suzuki Strings Camp, 9am-12pm, ages 4-8, instrument required.
Led by Paul Stroebel & Holley Ross

Aug 4-8: “First Year” Harry Potter-themed Suzuki Strings Camp, 1pm-4pm, ages 6-12, instrument required, for early Suzuki Book 1 students.
Led by Paul Stroebel & Holley Ross

Aug 11-15: Open Jam Camp, 9am-12pm, ages 9-16, instrument required.
Led by Mary Steinbrecher


Payment Policy

  • 50% deposits are due one month prior to start of camp.
  • Full payments are due no later than 2 weeks prior to start of camp.
  • After May 24, 2024 there are no refunds, except in the form of camp credit (to be applied in 2022 or 2023)
  • Payments can be made online (see PAY links in camp descriptions below), or mail check to 10 Ridgelawn Rd., Asheville, NC 28806 and include student name and camp name.
