Asheville Music School offers the opportunity to study the craft of writing music for pictures. Scoring involves writing music for movies, TV, video games, and other forms of media. Lessons are crafted based on age, musical experience and interest of the student. Lessons can include composition, writing themes, scoring scenes, scoring techniques, orchestration, instrumentation, scoring tone and emotion, score studies, and working with Logic Pro/Garageband. Lessons will be tailored to each student’s individual needs, interests, and goals. Scoring is available for all ages and all musical backgrounds. Helpful feedback and notes can be provided to current projects and ongoing collaborations within the Asheville Community. Students can start with an interest in music for film or video games and eventually develop into learning how to be efficient in composing, scoring, mixing, and producing high-quality music with their computer.
