At Asheville Music School composition and songwriting lessons are available to students of all ages. If a student is genuinely interested in writing his/her own music then we are here to help develop that. Lessons are catered to the student’s age, skill level, and style preference. Younger students will start out with simpler composition/songwriting lessons, while the older more experienced students can learn much more formal techniques. Our teachers generally start with the paper and pencil method, but can develop into composing with computers if desired. Many of the faculty at AMS write original music themselves and perform in local and regional bands, thus bringing hands on experience to the lessons.
