Asheville Music School, in partnership with local Asheville musicians, has started a new music scholarship fund in honor of the late Sean Mason. The Sean Mason Memorial Scholarship Fund will benefit students wishing to study percussion instruments of all kinds, as well as studies in jazz and composition. Sean was long-time Asheville drummer and percussionist who passed away late this past summer of 2020.
Join us for the kickoff concert on Sunday October 25, 2pm, at Salvage Station, with local musicians of all sorts performing Sean’s music. More info on the Facebook event HERE.
AMS scholarships provide financial help to those who would otherwise be unable to afford music lessons. Scholarships are based on need and are awarded for 6-month semesters. Awards are determined by a scholarship committee and may be made for 50% to 90% of tuition cost.
