With a heavy heart we have to inform you that Paul Thorpe was involved in a fatal accident Saturday afternoon. The Asheville Music School will go on with our founder Anne Coombs as director downtown. However, the Holiday Recital (scheduled for December 11th) will be canceled. We will post more details as we receive them.

On behalf of the Asheville Music School I would like to thank all of those that have offered support, thoughts and prayers for us. The outpouring of support that we have seen is greatly appreciated.
Both West and Downtown locations of the Asheville Music School will be open Monday. With the exception of Pauls studio, lessons will proceed as scheduled unless your instructor contacts you to cancel.
As already announced, next weekends recital will be canceled. Alternate recital possibilities will be discussed with the faculty Monday.
We will pass along specifics on arrangements for Paul as soon as we have them.
Update 12/5/11
We had a meeting with the faculty this morning, the toughest meeting we’ve ever had at the school. We want to thank everyone again, for the continued support, thoughts, prayers and offers of help. We want make Paul proud of our efforts in continuing to build the Asheville Music School.
