Bio

Jenny Bradley is a musician, pianist and teacher new to Asheville from New York City. She has taught hundreds of students in the Carolinas, Chicago and New York over the past 25 years. Known for making lessons fun and for keeping the same students for years at a time, Jenny is always creating new ways of teaching to accommodate different learning styles.

Her life-long involvement in music ranges from gospel singing in church as a child to 15 years of classical piano study which led her to earning a degree in music education from Lander University with an emphasis in piano and choral music. At the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, she helped develop the group piano course for kids and created a successful method of teaching rhythm, ©Rhythm Shapes. She also wrote several arrangements and medleys used in performance there and performed herself. In addition to solo appearances, Jenny has been a back up singer for several bands, has sung demos in Nashville and was a featured music instructor on an NBC television series. Jenny is also dedicated to inspiring young educators. She has led workshops at Roosevelt University of Chicago, Access Contemporary Music, City University New York, The Old Town School of Folk Music and public schools of South Carolina.

For 15 years in Manhattan, Jenny ran The Americana Music Circle and My Friend Jenny, Music for Kids, both of which provided in home private and group music lessons as well as party and school entertainment. She also wrote the music education curriculum for The Manhattan Movement and Arts Center, known now for their musical productions, upon their grand opening.

Since moving to Western North Carolina in 2020, Jenny, along with her daughter Blu Belle, has formed the duo Moon Water. They perform monthly live streams on their Facebook page while waiting on live venues to reopen. Moon Water is recording an album of original music at Citizen Vinyl in Asheville to commemorate the family experience of relocating during the pandemic and the creativity it inspired.
