We are pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda (Mandy) Guilfoyle as our new Program Director!
“At Asheville Music School we believe in the inherent power of music to transform lives,” states Ryan Reardon, Executive Director. “Connecting people through the universal language of music heals, builds, and strengthens individuals, relationships, and community. Mandy shares this belief, and we are happy to have her join our team to help expand our goals even further.”
Among other duties, Guilfoyle will be directing the Sound Education outreach program, which consists of student ensembles, soloists, and AMS teachers. These musicians and teachers perform or teach for free at community sites for underserved members of our population.
Coming to Asheville via Dallas, TX, Amanda also teaches cello, violin, and piano, and has a decade of performing and teaching experience, including work with Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble. She has this to share: “I am passionate about music education and community outreach, and I’m very excited to continue to expand Asheville Music School’s programs.”
